tATTOO PRE + POST CARE
Effective preparation and aftercare is essential for your tattoo, significantly influencing the tattoo process and healing.
DAYS PRIOR APPOINTMENT
-Keep the area well moisturized
-Avoid damaging the skin, damaged skin can not be tattooed. (ie. sun burn, reactions, cuts or scrapes)
-Avoid drugs or alcohol for up to 24hrs prior to your appointment. This can effect bleeding and/or healing.
-Do not shave the area being tattooed as it may cause razor burn. I will do it for you during your appointment.
DAY OF APPOINTMENT
-Staying well hydrated and having a meal prior to your appointment will help keep you feeling your best throughout the tattoo process.
-Shower before coming to your appointment; clean skin
-Dress in comfortable dark loose clothing
-Avoid caffeine
-Bring a book or headphones if wanted to help pass time
AFTERCARE
-Leave second skin on for 2-3 days, avoid heavy sweating during this duration.
-Remove second skin under cool water, gently wash with unscented soap, pat dry with paper towel.
-Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to tattoo. Repeat until tattoo is fully healed.
-Avoid sun/UV until the tattoo is fully healed.
-No hot tubs, pools, saunas or bathing until tattoo is fully healed.
-No picking, or scratching your tattoo throughout the healing process.
-If your skin appears to be red during the duration of the second skin being on, remove immediately.This can be the result of an allergic reaction to the second skin. Wash with unscented soap and keep clean/moisturized as instructed.
Touch Up Policy
The tattoo is considered fully healed at six weeks, at which point a touch up can be done if needed. Continue to keep the tattoo moisturized and protected with SPF, as this will aid in the longevity of your new art.
-Minor touchups have a baseline fee of $30/15min
